Today has been an exciting level of sick I haven't reached in quite a while.

Fevers and everything! I'm hot and cold and have a sore throat and runny nose and a nasty headache with occasional spurts of intense stabby pains in my temple and a tendency to burst into tears. Julian says I feel really hot, painkillers are being ineffective and my ability to speak in full sentences has been compromised.

I have pre-purchased movie tickets and social plans for tomorrow. this needs to get better.

When did Yahoo acquire Flickr? Am I horribly behind the times on this?

I can't log in to my flickr account. I'm in this vicious loop where I can't remember enough info about my most recent yahoo account to get it to tell me my account info, can't even remember for sure my user id. But when I try to sign on the old-fashioned way it tells me that vistana@gmail.com is associated with a yahoo id, and to sign in that way!
When I managed to get access to a yahoo account, one I know I haven't used in years and is not my most recent, it won't let me merge my flickr account because it says that info is wrong. But the 'I forgot my password' link tells me that 'vistana@gmail.com' is associated with a yahoo account, and to use their password retrieval. But that link doesn't recognize that e-mail address!

Poison, or Not Poison?

I just noticed that the jar of mayo that is slathered all over my delicious sandwich expired a year ago. Should I be worried? Get my stomach pumped? Stop eating this delicious sandwich?

It smells and tastes and looks just fine.

Good food today.

Leaving the stairwell and realizing those delicious smells are coming from your apartment? Wonderful.

Only having yourself to cook for and still doing something decadent and delicious? Very satisfying.

Arg, MSN fail.
I go to sign in, tells me my contact list is not available, try again later, with a more information link.
Click the link, it tells me that everybody needs the most recent MSN! Which I thought I had, but whatever. Annoying, re-download.

Same error. There's an error code that doesn't turn up any entries on the msn live help page, just more encouragements to download windows live! More programs I don't want!

bah, humbug.

oh well, time to get off the computer and go to the movies anyways.

one of my biggest pet peeves is lag between audio and video tracks when I'm watching tv or a movie. I see offset before just about anyone else will notice, and once I've noticed it's there I fixate on it and have trouble watching the rest of the show.

I'm trying to watch the season finale to season 2 of Torchwood. It's dramatic, exciting, and I would probably be enjoying it immensely if the lag between the audio and video wasn't approaching a full second! Gah! I cannot watch it! Tense confrontation with facial close-ups...cannot deal. Really upset about this. I just want to watch the damn thing, but I can't even pay attention to what's going on, I just stare at lips moving in totally the wrong way and want to tear my hair out. I've tried 3 or 4 times now, and I just cannot do it!

Bah, humbug!

Question for my friends with infinitely more gardening experience than I - how seriously do I have to take the guidelines on my seedlings and seed packets regarding how far apart the plants should be? Because what I can remember seeing in my mother's garden and what the guidelines say are very different things... 60 cms apart for tomato plants? 25 cm for cilantro? It seems rather excessive.
And it's a real concern, I don't want things to start dying on me, but I only have so much space on my balcony (seriously, my closet is bigger) and so many pots, and lots of stuff I want to try growing! Advice?

It's a warm pleasant sunny day. Normally I would be hopping on my bicycle right about now. I'm trying to decide if 54km/h winds with gusts up to 65 km/h are enough to justify taking the bus instead.

...okay, just saw a motorcycle get knocked over. Bus it is.

Just got a haircut, and am pretty much giddy with glee.
Pictures when I'm not lazy and filled with headache of doom, but it is short and asymmetrical and frames my face and is all kinds of funky. I just need to learn that hair does not need to be tucked behind my ears all the time. I feel like my haircut is cooled than I am.

Made a doctor's appointment for Thursday to deal with my by now really irksome headaches that will not go away. I hope it's not a brain tumour.

Must run, need to go look at myself in the mirror again.

There are times when I really have trouble with certain types of feminist writing...

discussing a woman who has made the choice to be heterosexual - "Moreover, the woman in such a relationship is still giving her energies very largely to a man, consorting intimately with a member of the oppressor group, and hence, indirectly withholding her energies from a woman."

...yup, I should choose to stop having relationships with men, because otherwise I'm selfishly withholding energy from oppressed womyn everywhere.
